Top 5 Best Apps to Download Mp3 Music on Android

Android continues to be the best platform for music lovers as there are a plethora of music apps to listen and download music from for free on the Google Play Store. But this is where the problem steps in; there are just so many music apps available on the Play Store that it can seem extremely difficult to select the best one for ourselves. We often go for the one with the highest number of downloads, but that’s not the right way to choose an app. Even ratings are not always accurate as everyone rates the app from their liking and preference.

Hungama Music

Coming from India, this app holds a special place in my heart as it features songs in many of the local Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, and Gujarati, to name a few. It features a huge music library of more than 3.5 million songs! A unique feature of this app is its reward system. The more you use this app and listen to its songs, the more points you earn. You can use these points to redeem discounts, get free tickets, etc. Although the app is upgradable to its pro version, you can use most of its features for free. You can watch music videos of blockbuster hits and even download them.

Lyrics are also displayed so that you can sing along with the song. If you are a fan of Indian classical music and ghazals, you’d be happy to know that Hungama’s music library covers almost every popular ghazal and classical song! Other music genres include EDM, Rock, Pop and much more. The only drawbacks of this app according to me are its interrupting ads and availability of English songs. It does feature quite a lot of English songs, but you can’t expect to find every English song on there.

Google Play Music

No Android music apps list can be complete without a mention of Google Play Music because it’s that iconic. Although you can’t download music onto your phone’s local music album, you can save the music and listen to it offline on the Google play app without using your data. You can also upload up to 50,000 Songs from your local library to the app which will allow you to access it across every device and platform. Podcasts are now available on both the free and the pro version of the app.

You can switch to any radio station you like and even start them according to your mood, activity, etc. In case you need ideas for songs to listen to, this app will suggest you some based on your preferences and mood. You can also browse through it by decade, genre, playlist, etc. This is that one app I highly recommend you subscribe to, as most of its useful features are available only in the paid version. Once you subscribe to this app, you can also watch videos on YouTube ad-free.

Deezer is an app which lets you stream songs and albums online. You can download the music and listen to them offline. The app features a personalized soundtrack which it likes to call as ‘flow.’ Flow tracks the songs you listen to and prepares a list of customized soundtracks just for you. Other than the tracks of your preference, the flow plays new hits of famous artists including Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran, and their new blockbuster hits.

Alike Hungama, this app also displays lyrics so allowing you to sing along. You can also lower down the volume and then use this lyrical version as karaoke! Browse the app by artists, genre, songs and year. You can also import songs from your phone library and listen to them on the app.

The app has an array of channels for you to stream based on special events, singers, editor picks, etc. Some of its genres are Rock, Pop, Indie and Blues. Keeping everyone’s preference in mind, the app gives you an opportunity to customize the audio. You need to have a stable internet connection to benefit from this feature though.

SoundCloud – Music and Audio

SoundCloud hands down has the most diverse and best music library ever, and it keeps growing every single day! On the free version, you can stream up to 12 million tracks from different artists. It can get hard to choose between tracks, and that’s why SoundCloud keeps track of your listening habits.

It sends recommendations from your past activities. Create personalized libraries for free and listen to them on the go. To download the songs and listen to those songs offline, you need to upgrade to SoundCloud Go, but there are many third party apps on the Play Store which allow you to save songs directly from SoundCloud.

Audiomack is free music streaming which lets you stream latest and hottest music for free online. You can also follow top music artists from around the world on this app and get notified on their latest hit. Albums, playlists, and songs, individually can be downloaded offline.

The ad-free version is incredibly cheap and is priced at only $1.99. Its Audiosnap feature allows you create a 15-seconds long video and share it on your social media. Unlimited downloading (download-enabled albums) and streaming can be done for all genres and mixes.
